I'd also like obvious stuff, like the names of map areas. I'm tired of explaining where something is by saying "2 maps west of...", just because I can't remember the name of a particular map...

Definately /signed. I am horrible with remembering particular locations and have wanted something like this for a while. Great idea.

Both the notes and having zone names annotated once explored (or once entered?) would be great additions.

- Personal Map Notations: good idea and will save be a great addition. signed
- Other Player's Map Notation: all the map needs are coordinates and explaining to someone what and where becomes an easy thing just by telling to coordinates. not signed

That was my first thought.
I just have this feeling that Anet is totally against having co-ordinates on the maps.

I also think that map coordinates wouldn't be put into the game - it's too techy, it wouldn't really fit.
As for coordinates, I like the idea. But for now, I'll stick with the GWfreaks program

Idem ditto.
Or for those with Latin problems:
/singed on the map notations and map names
/not signed on the trading players map notations and map coordinates. It would add yet another commercial aspect to the game (like selling to the noobs in Old Ascalon asking where the next town is). Running is already a form of commercialising the map, selling locations would make it worse. Really.

/notsigned for notating on others map, if you want to annotate something, do it on your own map, if you want to share it with someone else, tell them where it is.

i'm always for putting your own markers on maps in games. it'd be nice if you could see the names of the actual explorable areas after you enter them too, so next time you want to go back to Regent Valley, you know where the heck it is!
